So What is a ‘Hack’?

Disclaimer: I should start by admitting that this article will certainly reflect the fact that I am now getting old! Sad but true…

When I was in my formative years ‘hacking’ was strictly limited to computers and computer systems. There were worm’s, trojan horses, cuckoo’s eggs, and all manner of other clever ideas to cause havoc and chaos (coincidentally the names of hacker collectives yet to be formed).

But nowadays, well, we have hacks reported in the news. For example, todays news included ‘TikToker proves viral cleaning hack for strea-free bathroom mirrors doesn’t work’. Good to know.

So hack obviously has evolved into something with a different meaning, a hack seems to be just someone being clever.

Get your car cleaned for free ‘Hack’

Fuel prices are through the roof currently, so it pays to be smart about when you fill up. Always fill up on the lowest priced day. Sometimes the difference can be as much as 25 cents per litre! If you use 50 litres per week for 52 weeks, you will save $625. That’s enough to pay to have your car detailed every 2 months.

And that’s how you get your car cleaned for free.

Have an extra public holiday ‘Hack’

In the previous ‘Hack’, dependent upon the type and size of vehicle you own, having your vehicle detailed by your local Jim will save you 6-12 hours work each year.

That’s an extra public holiday when you can ‘literally’ do whatever it is you want to do.

Improve the sale price of your car ‘Hack’

I read today that the wait time for many new cars is going to be at least 12 months and that the resale price of used cars is increasing.

So if you want a new car, it might be a great ‘Hack’ to put your name down with the dealer, meanwhile with the value of your existing machine rising, it’s time to maximise what you can make from it by getting it looking ‘the best it can be‘.

Step 1: Refer to ‘Get your car cleaned for free ‘hack’

Step 2: Refer to ‘Have an extra public holiday ‘hack’

Then in a years’ time you have achieved getting your car cleaned for free, having an extra public holiday and getting the absolute best price for your pre-loved vehicle.

That sounds like a win-win-win
