Window Furnishing Trends For 2023

Window furnishings serve multiple purposes in your home. Aesthetically, blind furnishings are like artwork decorating your spaces, creating your desired look and feel. Practically, they act as insulation to keep the heat in (or out) depending on your location and season. They provide privacy and help manage how much sunlight enters your spaces.

When choosing window furnishings, you are met with quite a variety of options. From style to practicality, we have highlighted the trends we will continue to see throughout 2023 below.

Roller Blinds

Clean and simple is one of the biggest trends in window treatments, and that is here to stay. Roller blinds create a very neat aesthetic and allow you to open the blind all the way to the top of the window, maximising sunlight. Double roller blinds pair block out blinds with a sheer/day blind allowing you to choose which is required at any given stage in your day. Roller blinds fit to your window smoothly, so are great for smaller spaces or where you don’t want your window furnishings to be the focal point of the room.

Roman Blinds

Following on with the clean and simple aesthetic fitting for roller blinds, are roman blinds. Roman blinds are a fabric, foldable blind that fits directly over the window frame. Roman shades are classic and have clean lines for modern interiors. These blinds are almost like a hybrid between roller blinds and traditional curtains. You can choose a fabric similar to that of a curtain, but you get the clean, compact feel of roller blinds (with added insulation).

Shutters

It feels as though plantation shutters have never gone out of style. Plantation shutters add character and elegance – and they’re incredibly easy to operate. They’re also easy to clean, just needing a quick wipe/dust from time to time.

Curtains & Drapes

Flowing curtains in natural fabrics can elevate any room.  They can be made of heavy, light, and heat-blocking material or gauzy for-looks-only fabric (like sheers).
